where were you...

when the world stopped turning?

on this day, 10 years ago, was the day America will never forget.

the day we were attacked, the day many brave men and women risked their lives, and the day that has one of the most vivid memories in my mind.

i was only 9 at the time but i remember everything about that day.

i woke up, it was a normal school day for me, and i remember how beautiful it was outside. i was in my fourth grade computer class, when my computer teacher had told us that one of the twin towers in NYC had been hit by a plane. (i really didn't know what to think of it, i didn't even know what the twin towers were). then during lunch that day, my homeroom teacher informed us that both towers had been hit, along with the pentagon, and another plane had crashed into a field. she prayed for all the people who were involved, and for President Bush. i knew then that something bad had happened, but i still didn't realize everthing that was involved.

then i came home, it was then that i realized how horrific this "accident" was, and that it really wasn't an accident. anger, sadness, and fear all came over me at once. i didn't know why we were attacked, but i knew that America was going to make a stand against our attackers.

it saddens me today that people are angry about the war. i do believe that we can all live in peace, but that's kind of what this war is fighting for. it did start out as revenge, and although it doesn't seem like it, i believe we have accomplished a lot. it also really annoys me, cause they can't remember that we didn't really start this war, al qaeda declared the war on us, they threw the first punch. if we didn't punch back, then everybody would be mad that we didn't try to fight for our country.

we always need to remember what happened on 9/11/01, and why we are fighting this war.

so this goes out to anybody affected by 9/11, to all those who risked their lives for others, to all the fallen heroes, and to all our soldiers...
and to America: "United We Stand, Divided We Fall"

"Our enemies have made the mistake that America’s enemies always make. They saw liberty and thought they saw weakness. And now, they see defeat."
~President George W. Bush

signing off, this is chezzy louise
