happy memorial day

happy memorial day everyone!

please use this day for what it's worth. our veterans and soldiers don't get appreciated near enough.  so if you know a soldier or a former one, thank them and realize that they risk(ed) their lives for our country.

30 day challenge - day 07

okay, i'm back for day 07 of this thirty day adventure
day 07: a picture of your most treasured item

this one took me a little bit to think of, but once i saw it, it hit me.

the swingset!

ever since i can remember, i have always loved that swingset, and i still do.

when i was little, me and katelyn would always use it for many things. we played house, used it to go wild on the middle swing, or just to play on with cousins and friends.
with our big imaginations it was a house, a ship, pharoah's "slave land", or anything we wanted it to be, it was awesome.
i still use it now, mostly for swinging, but when i feel like a little kid again, i'll go in the "house" part of it and slide down the slide, or go down the firepole. i don't know what i would've done without it.
you can always have fun with a swingset, no matter what your age is.

exciting news!

okay, so some of you know that cars is probably my favorite movie for many reasons:
-it's funny
-has a great storyline (with a non-cheesy ending)
-great for the whole family
and last but certainly not least...
-brad paisley has not only one, but two songs in it

so, now you probably already know what i'm getting at,
but i'm going to say it anyways.

well, there's a second cars coming out, so of course i'm really excited.
i said "oh, maybe there will be more brad songs in it!"
well, low and behold, there is!
he will have two songs again in cars 2.
one will be during the movie, while the other will play during the credits.

brad said, and i quote: "So when U get to the / song in cars2, just know, I recorded 67 tracks of guitars for your listening pleasure."

He also got to see the movie, due to his part in it, and said it was an awesome movie that (if you have the chance) you have to go see it.

so, i thought i'd let you know that because that makes the movie so much more special.

30 day challenge - day 06

day 06 - a picture of somebody i wish i could be for a day

well, this might surprise some of you, in a way. i have such a hard time with these types of questions. i think it's because i mostly enjoy the life i have already.  so after a lot of thinking, it finally came to me...

she loves animals, she's a country music singer, she's beautiful, everybody that knows her, loves her, and she hangs out with brad paisley! (who wouldn't wanna do that?)

have you guessed it yet?

carrie underwood! (she does have a pretty awesome life)

i am proud to be an American

30 day challenge - day 05

yes, i'm still here, and don't really have any excuses for not blogging lately; other than laziness and homework.

so...on another note, day 05: a picture of your favorite memory

well, there are plenty of memories i've had in my childhood.  all of them were equally great, so none can really be labeled as one specific favorite. but due to a great memory and cute (well, i think) picture, the cottage got chosen. every summer, my family, my cousin's family, my grandpa & grandma, and my uncle would all spend a couple days at the cottage together. this cottage was a very small cottage, and we were always cramped (especially in the latter years when we had 3 more little ones).  and, it was always extremely hot, or rainy and dreary. but somehow, we always had lots of laughter, and we always had fun.

great memories were always made at that little, yet sweet place.
