I pray to have a relationship with God.

 

In one of the devotionals from a few weeks ago, I learned about the importance of prayer, other than praising God and asking God for help and forgiveness.

The importance of prayer is to keep a strong relationship with God.

Just like people regularly talk to their spouse, they need to talk regularly with God.

 

If you didn't talk to your spouse or boyfriend/girlfriend, you wouldn't have a good relationship with that person, much less a relationship at all.

Praying is talking to God, and to develop and keep a good, strong relationship with Him, you need to continue to "talk" with Him.

 

Praying won't always get you what you want, but that doesn't mean it's not worth it.

 

Prayer is like "falling in love" with God.
